What began as a cozy book club of eight close friends and family eager to dive back into reading has blossomed into the beloved Book Club Babes! They gather to discuss their Book of the Month, celebrate with bookish goodies, and indulge in themed decorations—because who doesn’t love a good theme?

Noticing the lack of a book market in their vibrant city, Alyssa and Jackie seized the opportunity to host the first book market, organized by The Book Club Babes, in both summer and fall 2025. The turnout exceeded all expectations, igniting their passion and revealing a special spark within the community.

With incredible demand, it became clear they needed to elevate their vision, leading to the inception of Readers Fest! The first large-scale author panel and book market launched on June 15, 2026, at Post Houston, where the local reading community showed up in remarkable numbers.

Now, Readers Fest is powered by a dedicated committee that proves it takes a village to plan an event of this scale and detail. These passionate book lovers are excited to create an unforgettable experience for the Houston reading community!
